Three exciting workshops connect cultural artists and activities with technical and 3D artists to engage with African cultural heritage in new ways.
Workshop #1: AVATARS AUGMENTED
The world of GRAPHICS, COMICS, DRAWING… meets augmented reality in Brussels
Event Overview: We invite artist activists and technical artists to join us for a unique event that aims to bridge the gap between African cultural heritage and immersive technologies. This event seeks to foster collaboration between individuals passionate about engaging with cultural heritage and those with the technical skills to create 3D avatars. Together, we will create AR experiences that explore African heritage in a new and engaging way.
With special guests Davide Cuttini and Marjan Maghaddam.

The world of STAND UP, SLAM, THEATRE meets MOTION CAPTURE in Namur
Event Overview: We invite live performers and technical artists to join us for a unique event that aims to bridge the gap between African cultural heritage and immersive technologies. This event seeks to foster collaboration between individuals passionate about engaging with African heritage and those with the technical skills to create 3D avatars. Together with technical partners, we will recreate important moments in Africa’s history in new and engaging ways using AR and motion capture technologies.

Workshop #3: VIRTUAL EVENT STORYBOARD
The world of MUSEUMS & ARCHIVES meets 3D VIRTUAL WORLDS in Brussels
Event Overview: We invite you to join us for a unique event that aims to bridge the gap between museums and immersive technologies with an introduction to 3D scene design and art direction.
This event will enable digital novices to take part in the creation of a 3D stage showcasing historical costumes from the museums of the City of Brussels and Unesco Mons, and a gallery of historical figures linked to Panafricanism & the World Palace (Mundaneum/Parc du Cinquantenaire).
Together, participants will storyboard an animated sequence, discovering the customization options for direction, lighting, sound and interactivity.
